Holy shit. Can’t help but wonder if the “builder/seller” could be charged with manslaughter or something if a stupid buyer actually dies in the so called death kart.
Anyways I flagged the listing. Thing needs to be crushed. Or parted if there’s anything salvageable on it.

That caught my eye as well

I’d say that’s a job half done, but that’s giving it too much credit.

My favorite thing about this, besides absolutely nothing, is that he took a car with 50/50 weight distribution and mostly took
weight
off the rear axle.
Also, “BMW death cart” is literally an accurate description of this.

Looks fun for brave people, I'm 67 years old and my hips dont work. The steel Mills killed me and now I can't drive anything but my 2013 Camry.

With the caveat of not knowing what was used for tubing or having good pictures of the welds and mounting plates, this isn’t nearly the worst one of these I’ve ever seen . The basic layout of the cage looks like it was built by someone who has at least actually looked at a cage in a race car logbooked by a major sanctioning body. That said, this thing is still only suitable for destroying in a spectacular youtube video.

They also took the roof off so that makes the weight distribution meaningless as it will fold like a flapjack....

I feel like advertising it as a death kart would help the seller.

I would at least wait until he finishes the cage.
Oh, wait - that’s it, he’s done? Yeah, no. That’ll crumple like paper. I really would’ve liked to see the DMV interaction.

I guess I’m one of the few that disagrees with the term “Exoskeleton” for this kind of vehicle. It’s a hybrid tube buggy, a roll cage car, etc. Some term that means hacked up car with a roll cage.
I know what Wikipedia says about this, but it is not an exoskeleton. There’s a picture of a 4-Runner (tried to attach, but well Kinja might not show it) with an external roll cage or exoskeleton. That is an exoskeleton.
This is very similar to the auto industry calling 4 door cars Coupes.

The twist? The cage is made from paper towel tubes.

Probably all too easily...
